George W. Bush Presidential Museum
2023 Interactive and Film Updates
Client/Company: Cortina Productions
Project Description: A decade after its opening, the George W. Bush Presidential Museum renovated two of its galleries. Acting with Compassion reflects on elements of the Bush Administration’s foreign policy, including the U.S. President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief known as PEPFAR. Call To Service demonstrates the ways President and Mrs. Bush have continued to serve in their post-presidency lives. Cortina Productions produced two films, three interactive stations, and a media wall template.
Julie’s Role: Producer / Writer
I was the project manager for all the media in the Bush Museum when it opened in 2013. Because of my deep knowledge and familiarity with not only the subject matter but also the museum as a whole, Cortina Productions asked me to serve as producer and writer for a series of multimedia experiences to refresh the exhibits.
For the films, I led the pre-production process, working closely with the client content expert to explore the storylines and with another Cortina producer to whom I handed the films off for production. I developed concepts, conducted content research, directed image research, wrote preliminary scripts, and drafted questions for an original interview with President and Mrs. Bush.
I took the interactives all the way to production, which included all concepting, content and image research, and scripting. To get the components ready for programming, I oversaw the wireframing process and graphic design.
